High school students, especially those who are planning to go to college, are often overwhelmed with homework and extracurricular activities. This could potentially hurt their grades and performance in the classroom. Having too much homework is a common complain among many high school students. So how can they deal with the pressure of meeting deadlines while still keeping their sanity? 

Some vital tips to follow!

  • Get enough sleep: Your brain needs to rest in order to deal with the demands on an academic overload. When you have gotten a good's night sleep, you mind is clear and much more able to focus on the task at hand.

  • Eating well: Along with sleep, your body also needs fuel to function at optimum levels. Likewise, for the brain to be productive it must consume a balanced amount of nutrients. Keep a snack handy so that your blood sugar stays stable during the long hours of studying.

  • Maximizing time: There are only a certain number of hours in the day so it is essential that you make the most of them. Concentrate your focus on doing assignments which are due first, even if they will take longer than some of the others. Stay with one assignment at a time so that your focus do not get too far off track.

  • Make a schedule: With so much on their minds, students often forget important assignments. Keep a schedule that you can update on a daily basis, or whenever you receive a new task or finish one.

  • Keep research material handy: Have everything altogether that you are going to need in one place. This will save time on searching for that one last piece of information to complete an assignment.

  • Use class time wisely: While it can be tempting to spend the last 20 minutes of class catching up with friends, get a start on your homework instead. You will be amazed to discover how much you will accomplish under the watchful eye of the teacher. If you are able to finish an assignment, hand it in right away, even if it is not due until a later date. This way you will not run the risk of misplacing it somewhere and having to begin again.
